When do I need to submit my application for a Business Grant (Round 3)?
Business Grants will open on 17 November 2025 and stay open until all $7.5 million in available funding has been allocated for the financial year.
Can you help me with my Business application?
We can only provide information on how to complete your application. To maintain the fairness, integrity, and transparency of the application process, we cannot assist you in writing the application.
We suggest looking at the new Supporting Documents Checklist and Self-assessment Tool for helpful information.

My business application has been submitted. How can I track It?
All applicants must apply online and will receive a Submission Reference Number (SRN) once lodged. Keep a copy of your application, SRN, and supporting documents.
You can quote your SRN when contacting the Grants Unit at 1800 943 039 for updates.
Will you contact me if there are problems/questions about the application?
We assess if you’re eligible to apply against the criteria in the Business Grant Guidelines. We will notify you if we need further information to determine your eligibility or if your application is deemed ineligible.
Once you are successful in the eligibility assessment, we will send you an application form. We will review your application for completeness and will notify you if your application is incomplete.
I received a grant from another Grant Provider for my Project. Can I still apply for a Business grant?
Yes, you can still apply. However, you must clearly show what you are asking funding for in your Business Grant application. We also need to know about any other grants or funding you have received or applied for, to make sure the same expenses are not funded twice.
An organisation or private business has offered to help me complete my grant application for a cut of the Grant. Can I pay them to help me write the grant with the grant money?
No, any costs for the preparation of the grant application are not eligible for our grant programs. We have designed the application process to be straight forward to navigate and complete.
Can you provide me with Legal or Financial advice on my application?
No, we do not provide legal or financial advice (including taxation) to applicants or grantees. Applicants or grantees should seek their own independent professional advice on financial and legal matters, including compliance with any statutory obligations.
I currently have an approved ABA Grant. Will Aboriginal Investment NT be managing my grant now?
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) will continue to manage ABA grants approved before 2023 and current funding arrangements until they expire. The NIAA will also continue to manage the ABA Homelands Project.

How are Business applications assessed?
Applications are assessed against the eligibility and assessment criteria. You can find the criteria in the Business Grant Guidelines. The application process is:
- Eligibility assessment by the Grants Unit, if deemed eligible it will move to the next stage. If ineligible, or more information is required, we will contact you.
- Assessment on application forms by the Grants Unit.
- Assessment outcome review by the Delegate.
- Final decision by the Decision maker – Chief Executive Officer AINT
- Final outcome notification.
Can I appeal the decision in relation to the outcome of Selection Process?
Applications are assessed against criteria described in the Grant Guidelines. Decisions about grants are final and cannot be appealed. We will inform you why your application was declined and provide appropriate feedback.
